Data Deletion

You can disconnect any social account yourself at any time. To remove your whole iHatePosting account, ask us and we will do it — this page explains what we store and every way to delete it.

What we store

• Your iHatePosting account (email, name, hashed password or Google sign-in link).
• For each social account you connect (Facebook Page, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, and the rest): its id, handle, avatar, and an encrypted access token.
• Your drafts, scheduled posts, published-post ids, and the engagement metrics we collect for them.
• Media files you upload to your library.

We never store your social-media passwords, and we hold no data about your followers.

Option 1 — Disconnect a social account

• In iHatePosting, open Accounts, find the account, and disconnect it. We delete our copy of its access and refresh tokens immediately, along with the cached profile details and the engagement statistics collected for it. Where the platform provides a revocation endpoint — which includes Google and YouTube — we revoke the grant with the platform at the same moment. Content already published to that platform stays there; deleting data held by iHatePosting does not delete anything stored by the platform itself.

Option 2 — Delete your entire iHatePosting account

• Email support@ihateposting.com from the address on your account and ask us to delete it. We disconnect every connected platform, then remove your account and everything owned by it — tokens, posts, media, and analytics. We do this by hand so the disconnections can be confirmed before anything is erased, and we will confirm when it is done. This cannot be undone.

Option 3 — Ask Meta to delete your data (automatic)

• On Facebook: Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites → iHatePosting → Remove, and choose to also request data deletion. (Instagram and Threads have the equivalent under their own Apps and websites settings.)
• Meta then sends us a signed data-deletion request. We delete the matching connected-account records automatically and issue a confirmation code you can check on this page.
